Service Area

Our service area is Northern Virginia - from Arlington to Stafford to Sterling to Warrenton.

This year, we are expanding our service area via Route 66 to Front Royal.  In 2025, we may offer limited services in SW Virginia (route 64 West - Covington, Clifton Forge, Lexington)

If you are located in DC or Maryland - sorry.  We do not service these areas and no plans to do so in the immediate future.  No expansion plans for south of Stafford at this time (Sorry, Fredericksburg).

Service Price

Our current price is $350.00 for our gas fireplace service.

This service includes:  cleaning, tune-up, servicing, adjustments for the components, gas leak and carbon monoxide level checks, ember replenishment, single glass panel cleaning, operating review and adjustments, clean firebox, contol compartment, proper placement of logs set.

We offer discounts on multiple fireplaces scheduled on same date at same location.  We do not have discounts during the peak seaon - including military.  Spring and Summer seasons are the times we offer savings.

Gas Fireplaces are to be maintained and professionally serviced annually.  This is an appliance that requires annual maintenance, adjustments, safety checks, repairs, replacement parts, and eventually - complete replacement.  The annual maintenance is a proactive approach for the operation and longevity of your gas fireplace.  This service may initially seem to be a solution for a unit that is not operating or requires a replacement part.  In some cases, repairs can snowball when a fireplace that has not been serviced or maintained is finally serviced. This reactive approach - waiting until something breaks - is not ideal for optimal operation.

We do not guarantee or warranty our service to fix all issues or any issue that develops after the service.

Contacting Wammoth

We are a seasonal business.  Peak season (a.k.a. The Busy Season) runs from October through February.  Weather depending, it may start earlier and/or end later.

Expect hold times and voice mail.  We make effort to return calls so allow 1-2 days. Sometimes, we respond via email.  Email is great as is our online submission form (usually is, but have a few hiccups as we develop our site).

Replacement or New

Replacement gas fireplace or a wood to gas fireplace conversion is an investment.  Pricing for these projects vary greatly depending on the type of gas fireplace you desire and options.

Vented Gas Log Fireplace:  similar to a wood burning fireplace.  heat is lost through the chimney.  considered a decorative appliance rather than a heater.  average estimate project completion: $3,000.00+.  unexpected fees (sometimes) - chimney repairs/liners, new fireplace doors.

Direct Vent Insert:  sealed box slides into your existing masonry firbox.  Firplace is closed during operation, viewing through a glass panel.  Rated as a heater and is a great option for supplemental heating for large open living areas.  Includes chimney liners.  FInished front look - no fireplace doors to upgrade.  average estimate project completion: $12,000.00+

Every project is different.  These prices are provided as a rough guess.  Your project may be lower or higher in costs.  It's good to get a few estimates and always verify your contractor's license and insurance!

Your Expectations

Expectations & Advice

  • Provide accurate information regarding the fireplace history & operations.
  • The service we provide may resolve the issue whether it's long term or temporary.
  • Your fireplace may require additional appointments for service or diagnostics after the initial service is performed
  • It is possible that once recommended repairs are completed, your fireplace may require additional parts to be replaced or repairs to be made.
  • Failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions on maintaining and servicing your gas fireplace may reduce the lifespan of the appliance and also can create operational issues much earlier.
